About Me

I'm Elizabeth Moreau Nicolai. All of my life's great adventures and misadventures have begun with a book checked out of a library. I've known since I was a little girl I wanted to be a librarian. I started out working in Kansas and Missouri libraries as a youth services but followed another childhood dream and moved to Alaska to work for Anchorage Public Library as a youth services librarian and now a branch manager. We're going to blame the move to Alaska on Julie of the Wolves and My Side of the Mountain.

It was my pleasure to serve on the 2012-2013 Newbery Committee (The One and Only Ivan).

Currently most of my misadventures and adventures begin when I bring home a new cookbook, urban homesteading book, or craft book, but you can read about those on my personal blog linked below. This blog is reviews of what I'm reading, thoughts on librarianship and management, and a lot more random things.
